- Project Description:
The fifth grade students in this class are learning about simple machines. My plan is to break the class into small groups, give each group the same materials (mostly recycled objects), assign a simple task, and have the student groups apply what they have learned about simple machines to create a much more complicated Rube Goldberg style machine to accomplish the task.
If you have designed such projects before, I would appreciate suggestions for tasks and lists of materials that might be appropriate for this project. Should you want to participate, this class meets for an hour once a week on Wednesdays.
