- “Measuring the Solar System” is a hands-on curriculum that engages students as young astronomers and challenges them to measure astronomical size and distances for themselves. Students not only learn to appreciate the vastness of the solar system and the wonders of the sun, moon, and planets, but also practice their math, observation, and data analysis skills. They will build a scale model of the solar system based on the size of a scaled sun (data for a sun scaled to 82 inches is included, but the model can be scaled to any size).

- For Educators
- “It Is Rocket Science” is a hands-on curriculum that engages students in exploring the interdisciplinary field of space science, which includes physics, chemistry, biology, physiology, and engineering. Students learn about basic concepts of physics, and apply that knowledge to understanding both the possibilities and challenges of space travel. The curriculum culminates in a distance-learning project with the Challenger Learning Center where Students are given a mission, and communicate live with scientists at the Center to complete the mission.
- Solar Cars
- Provided by Citizen Schools
- Science, Math, Engineering
- Curriculum and Lesson Plans
- For Educators
- The Solar Cars curriculum prepares students to design, build and race a solar car. Students build math and science skills as they identify the benefits of solar energy, learn about engineering methods, and create their own solar car. Ideal teachers include engineers, science teachers, scientists, professors, and all others interested in model building and/or solar energy.
